Venture Photography

I have been absolutely terrible about blogging over the past few months, and it’s not because we haven’t been shooting too much, in fact – quite the opposite!  Anyways, I am definitely going to try to be better about blogging and I am hoping to catch up on all the stuff that we have been shooting.  So – here is Sandy & Marvin!  They got married at Henry Ford in Dearborn and their wedding was fantastic!  They were both very classy and a lot of fun to work with, as well as very easy going (they also had the nicest bridal party every).  They definitely proved to be a dream couple for us.  Thank you Sandy & Marvin!

I’m sure all of our future brides already know that Hugh has a tradition that at some point during the wedding day he will have his picture taken with them.  What started off as Hugh simply going up and putting his arm around the bride to get a snapshot taken has changed direction completely (thanks to Nikki)!  Hugh’s newest thing for our past few weddings was to ditch the snapshot and to get into a full pose with the bride – we are starting to have quite a collection too!  So then I thought – why not make it a contest – instead of us coming up with the poses we are now going to leave it up to the brides.  Whoever comes up with the best and most creative pose will win a 16×20 canvas gallery wrap of an image from their wedding (this is for all of our 2009 brides).  It can be whatever you want it to be so get those creative juices flowing!  Here are some of the shots of Hugh and our brides that shows how this whole concept has evolved!

Hugh and I had an amazing time in Jamaica!  And while it was a true vacation in the sense that we didn’t even talk about work for a whole week (for the most part anyways) – Hugh was good enough to wake up at the crack of dawn on our second to last day and do a little posing for me.  He quickly got sick of it, but he was a good sport while it lasted.  So, here are a few of the images – am I lucky or what?  I love my husband!!!

Katarina and Jody had a beautiful and healthy baby girl, and we are so happy for them!  She is just absolutely adorable and we loved shooting her!  Congrats you guys!!!

Katarina & Jody contacted us about doing some maternity pictures for them, which was originally supposed to be in late November or possibly early December.  Luckily we went with November, as their beautiful baby girl was born a few weeks early and we just managed to get the shoot in!  Anyways, they were terrific to work with – so here are a few of the images.  Images of baby to follow soon!

Cori & Mike had a beautiful wedding, and of course I always love it when we get a weepy groom (sorry Mike)! Their whole day was really nice and their reception was absolutely breathtaking (the Ritz is amazing, as was the food)! We really enjoyed working with them, but we already knew they were awesome!  Thanks Cori & Mike!

We shot Cheryl & Joe’s wedding a few weeks ago and had a lot of fun with them. They scheduled plenty of time between the ceremony and reception for pictures, so we were able to go to a few different locations and really take our time. They were terrific to work with and were so laid back and just enjoyed the day. Here are just a few of the images.

We went to Chicago with Stephanie & Steven to do a bridal session and some pre-wedding bride & groom pics at the beginning of September.  I wanted to blog these images before now, but Steven wanted to surprised Stephanie with one of them as a wedding gift, so he asked that I not show them to her (which nearly killed me!).  As usual, we had an amazing time with them and I am really happy with the images!  We even made wedding programs for them with these images – I think their guests were really impressed because none were left behind!  Here are the pics – stay posted for some images from their wedding soon.

Kristy & Pete got married in Rochester last weekend and we had a blast with them!  I love the way the images turned out and we found this little spot that was very rustic and just amazing!  They were absolutely terrific and their families were really great as well!

Well things have been totally crazy lately and we have 3 weddings this upcoming weekend!  I am terribly behind in blogging, but I am hoping to catch up after this weekend.  We have shot some really cool stuff lately that I am really excited to post – so I just have to find the time (being sick 3 times in 1 month isn’t helping!).  Anyways, we shot Kelly & Brians wedding in Ann Arbor a few weeks ago and had a really nice time.  As usual – they were good sports and pretty much up for anything – which makes us pretty lucky because almost all of our couples are like that!  Here are just a few of the images.
